hi Emily! I'm a doctoral student in clinical psychology and focused on acceptance and committment therapy which highlights mindfulness. I also use journaling and mindfulness practice to be a better spouse, parent, and clinician. If you ever want to interview me, I'm game for it! Best, Kay
Thanks, Kay! I'm happy to be connected and following your writing. Your work sounds like it connects beautifully to this newsletter. I'd love to interview you. I'll be in touch!
Sounds great, Emily! I start teaching again and resume clinical work in about 2 weeks, so I have some down-time right now, but I will make time for you whenever you are ready. Cheers and Happy New Year!
Great interview--thanks for sharing the Gluck quote. This (and the blank time Covid given me) inspired me go back and reread The Naomi Letters. It's such a beautiful book of love and obsession and trying to find your self through another. Thanks Emily and yay Rachel!!
yes, agreed! "that we endure and we survive, and we notice in these “fallow” periods or blankness or silences instead of feeling like we must brute-force our way through making art because of some received idea that productivity is better." -- I was just thinking about these words this morning and it really helped me feel ok not writing, which was what I needed to do.

Thanks, Nancy! And I’m so glad Rachel’s interview inspired you to re-read The Naomi Letters! Such an incredible book.
So good, but I especially loved Rachel’s words on endurance and embodiment!
