Thank you for sharing this.

Somehow this makes sense to me & I feel like it’s easier to think about doing the writing in short bursts rather than long, extended sessions. I agree with Robin that ‘one minute counts’, even if it’s just writing a mind dump or something-- you’re still WRITING and that’s the important part. I’m going to try to start incorporating this more into my day, so thank you for the thoughtful food.

This feels so right. It reminds me of the meditation teachers (Dan Harris and others) who say "even one minute counts" - short bursts are better than nothing, and they build up a habit & an awareness that "oh, that does make me feel better to fit that into my life every day." I also love finding those scraps weeks or months later, having no recollection at all that I wrote them, and seeing at least some that might have potential to grow into something. Thanks for sharing this - I'm eager to find more writing prompts to kickstart these bursts for myself.

I love this, Robin! “Even one minute counts”--yes. And I agree it’s exciting to happen onto those scraps later that have potential--like a gift to your future self. I’ll keep sharing prompts but please share any that work for you, too!
