I know it's late but just wanted you to know how touched I am by this letter! I love how you wrote your way to the Rinpoche quote by the end. "This chaos has broken open my heart and I hope it won’t close back again" <333 UGH! Gorgeous!!
SoCal is lucky to share your energy and wisdom, which I am putting in my pocket for later as I anticipate my own imminent culture shock in Taiwan...take care and hope you're eating lots of fruit.
Thank you so much for reading & sharing this with me, Rho! Thank you for getting it and for your reminder to eat lots of fruit. I'm still not over having fruit trees in our yard...sending you good energy for your upcoming move/chaos/adventure!
Oh Emily, I so know the groundlessness you describe, as well as the peace that comes (even if only in fits and starts) when bits of the new cease to be so unfamiliar. Once I sat among a group of women considering the geographies of our childhoods—a question I had never before asked or answered. Those imprints are never fully erased, no matter how far we roam or how thoroughly we adopt a new terrrain.
So glad to hear your voice again— I look forward to your further explorations as you soar!
Thank you so much, Elisabeth! I truly appreciate your thoughtful reading and for sharing this. I love the way you write about these imprints...sending you good energy from afar <3

Sending the biggest of double high-fives to Lulu and Kai, and hoping today is better. And big hugs for you, Emily.
Thank you for this, Carolyn <3 and a big one right back xo

I love your brave writing! It’s inspiring for me to be ok with groundlessness as I continue to grow. Thanks!
Thank you, Susan! 💛
