The Ass in Chair Collective is a chill, supportive virtual creative meet-up via Zoom to help us get our asses into our chairs and make time for our creative work. We meet weekly on Mondays at 12 pm EST for an hour, so you can squeeze it into a coffee break or a lunch during the week, or, you know, hide in your bathroom with your laptop while small humans are yelling for you (my whole summer writing plan). The Ass in Chair Collective is run by at The Long Pause and me, and it’s a vibrant, unpretentious community of creative humans who are cheering each other on in our creative lives. Whatever you want to do with your time, we’ll cheer you on.
This Monday, June 16th, we’re having our first Summer Solstice party to celebrate what we’re proud of in our creative lives this spring, and it’s free to anyone to join! 🎉 Erinn and I are super excited to have our first batch of Ass in Chair SWAG to raffle off—newly minted Ass in Chair stickers!! We’ll also have paid subscription giveaways, a Bookshop gift card, and a celebration of what we’re proud of from this spring in our creative work.
So, bring a drink 🍹 or a treat 🍩 to toast yourself and each other and come write/draw/make something with us! & bring that friend who’s been needing community and who’s been sitting on a brilliant idea or project for too long (we all have that friend, don’t we?)
And, if you love it and want to come every week, you need to upgrade your subscription. $5 a month (LESS if you choose a yearly subscription) gets you 4-5 hours of community time with the Ass in Chair Collective— a creative coffee shop you can tap into from wherever you are— where we’ll cheer you on and support your creative life. You can try it for a month then let it go, you can use it for a season to help you through a specific project, or you can be a lifer and show up doggedly every week. We love it all.
As we move into summer, we’re keeping every third Monday of the month as an open Ass in Chair session, meaning anyone can sign up for free and the link will go out to all free and paid subscribers. Next week, we’ll have all the dates and details posted through summer, so stay tuned for that!
Once you’re registered, you’ll get a confirmation e-mail with the link, and Emily will send you an email with the link an hour before the meetup so you don’t have to dig for it.
