⚡Recap of "Do Something" Yoga & Writing Workshop⚡
so you can do something with us even if you missed the live workshop
Welcome to Be Where You Are. I’m a poet, essayist & writing teacher, and I teach writing workshops for the Madwomen in the Attic. My most recent book is the poetry collection, The Falls—you can find more info on Instagram or my website. This week, Erinn Batykefer from The Long Pause and I co-hosted a Yoga & Writing Workshop and we’re sharing the recap here.
It was truly awesome and restorative and I didn’t injure my arthritic knees with the yoga (thank god). One participant said, “I liked the marrying of the yoga and the writing. Made me less self conscious in my writing!” Amen to that! I felt the same way—it was like the yoga kind of shook loose some stuff that was stuck in my brain so that I could move through a block I didn’t realize I had.
I’m grateful to Erinn for making the yoga part so accessible, and for helping me weave together the yoga and the writing. At one point in the workshop, Erinn described the body as “the doorway into the mind, into the spirit, into the practice of writing” and I love that.
You can still watch and practice along with the workshop below if you missed it live! And, if you couldn’t attend the workshop, but still want to donate to The Center for Reproductive Rights and the Natural Resources Defense Council, click on the button below. Any donations received will be split evenly between these organizations. *Note: We’ve already received $110, which is not nothing! Thanks to everyone who has donated.

The workshop was great! Thank you, Emily and Errin. I agree that it shook some things loose!
